Running in conjunction with actuators, door lock switches accept electronic signals from the actuator and alert the door lock relay to unlock the door. As one of the most frequently used circuits in the car, the currents will eventually grow weak and require replacement.
Since the switch acts as a remote for the doors, having its function impaired means the door locks can stop function. It is important to ensure once you spot a problem with your locks you have it fixed immediately otherwise you may not be able to access your vehicle.
