Within your car, there is a component known as the drive belt that connects a number of your vehicle’s internal systems including the alternator, AC and power steering. The idler pulley ensures the belt has tension kept through it so it does not snap or give, ensuring your drive belt can maintain its function - letting you drive.
As the drive belt ensures excellent function of your internal engines, this makes the faulty idler pulley an immediate liability when it comes to great performance. We recommend you have it replaced immediately as a degraded idler pulley will lead to overheating and damage your engine, while a fully broken one will leave you unable to idle, let alone drive.
