Hello, I live in Oshawa and I have an ABS light on and my back window won't go up, I don't have plates on the car because I need to get it fixed up for safety. Could you give me a rough price for this job?
The ABS light will illuminate during each startup as it performs a self-test on the ABS system but it should go out within a few seconds. If the light remains on, or illuminates while you are driving, it means that the ABS system has detected a fault and disabling your ABS system. Providing you have a sufficient amount of brake fluid and there is no loss of fluid, you will still have normal braking capabilities at this point. However should be treated as equally important as your regular braking system. It's difficult to determine what caused the ABS light to come on as there are several factors that could trigger the light. But your vehicle will require to be scanned and diagnosed by one of our technicians.
A few examples of why your ABS light is on: 1) No signal from wheel speed sensors 2) Fault with the Hydraulic pump 3) Wiring/Electrical issues
As for your rear window not functioning. It could be a few things as well, electrically or mechanically. A faulty window motor and/or regulator are common to fail in most vehicles, as they can seize and the cables can break over time and use.
In order to accurately provide you with an estimate, one of our certified Fiix technicians will be pleased to come to you and accurately diagnose these issues. We can also perform a general inspection for you before you take your vehicle for it's safety inspection during our visit.
