The lug nuts are what keep your wheels firmly locked in place. They need to be tightened each time you have a tire change. However, they need to actually be tightened via a torque wrench that meets the products specifications, and many repair shops and individuals will use any random wrench. This is like using the wrong battery - you won’t get the best results. In fact, you’ll damage your wheel.
