The power steering hoses are what deliver a special fluid back and forth from the power steering pump and gear, allowing you to turn the wheel like it’s nothing. By creating hydraulic pressure, the power steering hoses work together to make your turning an easy process, allowing for optimal driving and helping you veer out the way in split second scenarios.
It is a bad idea to drive anytime your wheel or any other vital device for driving is compromised. If you interact with it as a driver and can’t drive a road trip without using it, it likely needs repair, and a steering wheel is no exception. Do not drive, and instead have a certified mechanic come by and replace your power steering hose.
