The driveshaft is what helps power your wheels, which are nowadays usually four wheel drive. The engine and fuel injectors then create power that spins your wheels and allows your car to drive. Depending on your drive shaft, this will lead to powering the front or rear wheels, or both sets.
Since you need the driveshaft to power your vehicle, you can’t move without it intact. A faulty or poor performing driveshaft will create more load on the other torque creating components of your vehicle such as the ball joints. Not only can it damage your other parts, but it can leave you in terrible traffic situations if you leave it unchecked. Don’t drive if you experience these symptoms - instead call one of our mechanics and have them replace it right on your driveway.
