Cruise control is very useful for giving yourself and your gas tank a break. By optimizing how the throttle is used and reducing kickback, you actually save on gas with a working cruise control. On your steering column, cruise options should be available to set speed and have your car engage and disengage the cruise. If this switch isn’t working though, one or all of your cruise functions may not work.
As cruise control is a convenience, repair this component whenever you have time. However, be wary to not use its functionality until then, otherwise your car may go at the wrong speed or the cruise may shut off unexpectedly.
