Ever wondered how your car knows whether the tank is full or empty? Well, thank the fuel gauge sender. In your car’s fuel tank, there is a resistor that measures electrical flow. This sends current to the fuel gauge, which tells the amount of gas left in the tank based on pressure. After that, you get the reading on your dash, and can figure out how long you need till the next fill up.
The fuel gauge may not be necessary to operate a car, but it is pretty damn annoying to drive without it working. Ballparking your gas tank measure will eventually lead you to being stranded, and likely more than once. Have this replaced as soon as you can, or you might find planning your next trip to the gas station a much harder than you thought.
One of the best car experiences I've ever had. 10/10. Booked and quoted on the phone. George was a really nice guy. Knowledgable and practical. Only did the work that was needed with a head's up of when to expect future service. All for a competitive price while I continued with my normal day in my own home. Why didn't anyone think of this before?! I will definitely use them again and recommend to my friends.
