This vent solenoid helps intake and filter air that is coming into the evaporative emissions system. This system is responsible for controlling how fuel vapours circulate around your engine, affecting your air/fuel mixture.The solenoid also helps close the vent valve, which tests for leaks. A faulty one can mean your vehicle will fail leak tests.
As your evaporative emissions system uses this solenoid more as a diagnostic tool, having it replaced is not necessarily an immediate concern. As it can be a hassle to face issues with leaks or filling your fuel tank though, have it replaced sometime when you can.
